Science Camp

The University of Michigan at Dearborn hosted a science camp for cadette girl scouts in August. The camp, called "Lab Coats and Microscopes" is run by science faculty Marilee Benore Parsons and Judith Heady, and by the Girl Scouts of Metro Detroit.

In this photo, Judith Heady explains the biochemistry while the scouts test how dye interacts with various fibers such as linen, silk and wool. The resulting product? A batik scarf!
