William A. Fedak and Carrie A. Smith were recognized at the Natural Sciences Awards Ceremony on April 20th as Outstanding Students in Physics for the past year.  Both are seniors.  Smith plans to graduate in December and Fedak some time after that.  Each has an advanced graduate degree in physics in mind as a long-term goal.  In addition to receiving a plaque recognizing their achievement they were also presented with copies of J. D. Jackson's textbook "Classical Electrodynamics."  Jackson's book is the standard graduate level book on electricity and magnetism.  The books were a gift of the J. Wiley & Sons, Publishing Company.
