Daniel Sisan, a 1999 UM-D graduate, is the lead author on a recent publication in Physical Review C, the premier journal for nuclear physics research.  This research involved work Dan performed while he was an undergraduate student at Dearborn.  Professor Aruna Nadasen was the project supervisor for this work which was carried out at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory at Michigan State University.  This is believed to be the first time that an undergraduate student at UM-D has been the lead author on a research article.  Lead authorship in nuclear physics research publications is indicative of project leadership.
Dan was also co-author in three Physical Review C manuscripts published between 1998 and 2000. He made four presentations at national physics conferences. In addition he was co-author of an additional eight meeting presentations at national meetings. Dan is currently a graduate student at the University of Maryland working on his Ph. D. degree in physics.

Also listed among the paper's co-authors is William Yuhasz a year 2000 graduate in physics from UM-D.  William is currently a graduate student in the Department of Physics and the Department of Materials Science at the Univeristy of California-San Diego.
